Image contact-sheet maker
Create labelled thumbnail grids from photos and export PDF or JPEG sheets.
What it does
Create labelled thumbnail grids from photos and export PDF or JPEG sheets.
How to use it
- Choose 1–40 JPEG, PNG or WebP images, then reorder or remove files. Set 2–6 columns and optional filename labels.
- Each sheet has five rows. Long filenames are truncated on the sheet; numbering follows the chosen order. Files are processed locally.
- 50 MB combined, 20 MB and 40 megapixels per image. Sheets are 1,600 × 2,200 pixels; PDF pages contain the same JPEG sheets.
Example
With four columns, 25 photos create two sheets: 20 thumbnails on the first and five on the second.
Methodology
Canvas fits each image without cropping into a five-row grid and renders filename labels. pdf-lib embeds the resulting JPEG sheets into a PDF.
Limitations
Thumbnails are resampled and JPEG is lossy. Transparency uses white; animation and source metadata are not retained. Labels are rasterised, not searchable PDF text.
Automation
This tool runs in your browser. No upload API or MCP endpoint is available.
