STL model inspector

Rotate a local STL wireframe and inspect model dimensions and triangle counts.

What it does

Rotate a local STL wireframe and inspect model dimensions and triangle counts.

How to use it

  1. Import binary or ASCII STL up to 10 MB / 100,000 triangles.
  2. Choose assumed coordinate units and rotate the preview with horizontal and vertical controls.
  3. Processing stays in this browser. No sign-up or upload.

Example

A mesh bounded by x=0 and x=20 has a width of 20 in the selected units.

Methodology

All finite vertex coordinates determine the axis-aligned bounds and triangle count. An orthographic wireframe renders sampled faces.

Limitations

STL has no encoded units; selection interprets coordinates. Preview samples at most 15,000 triangles. No watertightness, manifold or printability guarantee.

Automation

This tool runs in your browser. No upload API or MCP endpoint is available.
