Gamepad input tester

Inspect controller buttons, triggers and axes, and export a short observed resting-position report.

Connect a controller, start testing, then press a controller button to make it visible. Test buttons, triggers and axes yourself. Browser mappings vary; this does not change firmware or calibrate hardware.

Testing stopped. Start to read inputs.

For a resting sample, release the sticks and triggers. Record five seconds; reported min/max values are observed resting ranges, not full travel or a diagnosis. Hiding or leaving the tab discards an unfinished sample.

What it does

Inspect controller buttons, triggers and axes, and export a short observed resting-position report.

How to use it

  1. Start testing, press a controller button, choose the controller and record a five-second resting sample.
  2. Processing stays in your browser. No upload or sign-up.

Example

A released stick reporting values from −0.01 to 0.02 records that observed resting range without claiming calibration.

Methodology

The Gamepad API is polled only during an explicit test. A five-second resting sample records per-axis/button min, max and mean; hidden tabs, blur or controller changes cancel unfinished samples.

Limitations

Compatible controller, browser support and HTTPS/localhost are required. Up to 32 axes / 64 buttons / 600 samples; at least 30 observations per completed sample. Mappings vary; physical input requires the user. No firmware changes, vibration, calibration, repair claims or identifier export.

Automation

This tool runs in your browser. No upload API or MCP endpoint is available.
