Keep awake
Keep this window visible while you work.
Switching tabs, minimising this window or power-saving settings can interrupt the wake lock. We try again when you return while the session is still running. This tool cannot override manual sleep or lid closure.
Preferences stay in this browser. Each visit needs an explicit Start.
Need to work with this window hidden?
For background use on Windows, PowerToys Awake can keep the computer awake, with an optional screen-on setting. On a Mac, review sleep and display settings. This website needs to remain visible.
What it does
Keep your screen on while this page stays visible, with timed sessions, a clock and optional break reminders.
How to use it
- Choose a duration, an end time or Until I stop, then press Start. Stop releases this page's screen wake lock; your normal sleep settings then apply.
- Keep this page visible. A compact window can sit beside another app, but cannot stay on top automatically or guarantee background operation. Press Start separately in that window.
- The browser can pause or refuse the lock. Active means the browser reports a held lock, not a guarantee against system sleep. Returning to the page retries an enabled, unexpired session.
- Clock, break reminders and saved preferences stay on this device. No account, download or upload is required; saved settings never start a session automatically.
Example
Choose 60 minutes and press Start. Keep the page visible beside your work; Stop or the session deadline releases its screen wake lock.
Methodology
After an explicit Start, the browser's Screen Wake Lock API requests a screen lock. The displayed state follows acquisition and release events. Hidden pages release their lock; visible, enabled sessions retry until stopped or expired. Each compact window owns its own independently started session.
Limitations
Requires a supported browser and HTTPS or localhost. Duration 1–1,440 minutes, a local end time within the next day, or no deadline. Keep the page visible; hidden tabs, minimized windows, power saving and system policy can release or refuse a lock. No background or closed-lid guarantee. Compact windows cannot stay on top automatically. Reminders can be delayed by browser suspension; the clock and session deadlines use device time.
Automation
This tool runs in your browser. No upload API or MCP endpoint is available.
